How to setup Mywifiext.net?

  1. Connect to the NETGEAR extender’s default WiFi network name (SSID) NETGEAR_EXT. (Either it has no password, or the default password is password.)
  2. Open a browser and type mywifiext.net in the address bar.
  3. Click NEW EXTENDER SETUP.
If terms and conditions pop up, click YES or I AGREE to continue.
  4. Enter the extender’s admin credentials. We recommend leaving the User Name as admin and password that is different from your WiFi network.
  5. Select and enter two security questions of your choice from the drop-down menu. This will be helpful in future if you want to reset the password.
  6. Select your 2.4GHz and 5GHz (optional) WiFi Network Names (SSID) and enter their existing Wi-Fi password. If you don’t see your Wi-Fi network name, click on See More.
  7. Now select the SSID and Password for your extended Wi-Fi network and click NEXT. By default, NETGEAR adds _2GEXT and _5GEXT to your existing Wi-Fi network name.
  8. Optionally, you can select Enable One WiFi Name for mesh extenders to use the same Wi-Fi network name and password as your existing network.
  9. On this screen, your extender’s configuration will be displayed. Connect to your extended network and click CONTINUE.
